Game localization is a vital function of the ever-expanding global game industry, as it's responsible for half of the industry's total revenue stream. The IGDA Game Localization SIG is focused on helping localization professionals as well as the entire community of game developers and publishers to understand how to plan and execute game localization and culturalization as a part of the development cycle. In our annual GDC SIG meeting, we plan to discuss SIG activities from the past year, plan for activities for next year and discuss general localization topics, both continued discussion on those topics that had already begun online at the chapter's mailing list and groups, and also new ones. For example: a localization glossary, crowdsourcing localization, awards for localization efforts, Localization Jam, etc. Professionals from all departments and all areas of expertise are welcome to attend this meeting.
