This talk will cover:
  • An overview of Unity's editor, MonoDevelop and alternatives, cross-platform runtime and asset store ecosystem
  • Quick start for built-in components (including camera management, shaders, lighting, physics and sound)
  • Control and controllers (handling touch input and gestures)
  • Primer on the difficult bits (including UI and asset/prefab management)
  • Developing for, deploying to and debugging iOS devices
  • Utilizing assets and third-party code
  • 3D and 2D support overview


Attendees will leave with the knowledge required to not only start building iOS games, but also be able to leverage their experience from other platforms. In addition, attendees will be armed with a set of patterns and specific approaches to common iOS designs, performance constraints and game features.

This session will suit industry veterans new to iOS, as well as those with some experience on iOS looking to make strides in specifically game-oriented tools and techniques on iOS.
