LAMS: Building a Localization Tool for Everyone

Christopher Burgess  |  LAMS Project Manager, SCEE

Location: Room 2004, West Hall

Format: Session
Track: Localization Summit
Vault Recording: Video

Localization is an area where more disciplines collide than any other, and this kind of collaboration cannot succeed without careful management. This presentation will take a hands-on journey into LAMS, the localization tool used across Sony Computer Entertainment. The talk will look at how it handles the common problems of localization, like change tracking, while providing the flexibility to support the different needs of over 150 different projects ranging from inFAMOUS, God of War and Killzone: Mercenary to Puppeteer, Driveclub, Knack and Book of Spells.

Takeaway

If you have yet to build or are just developing your localization tools, you'll see the approaches LAMS uses to provide a powerful, flexible and reusable system, and the benefits this confers. If you have tools already, you'll get inspiration for advanced features and workflows that could streamline your localization process.
