Most GDC talks focus on amazing success stories and inspirational stories. Not this roundtable! Come talk about how to frustrate players, break your equipment and get yelled at by your colleagues! Or, well, how to avoid those things. Wednesday will cover conducting user research including recruiting, lab setup, technology and execution.


Attendees should leave with practical information that they can bring to work on Monday morning and apply directly to improve the users' experience of their games. The open-ended nature of this talk allows us to tailor the content to the most relevant issues for the people present.

Intended Audience

Anyone with an interest in user experience and user research is encouraged to attend this roundtable. Researchers, designers, producers, students and academics can all benefit from learning new and different strategies for improving the users' experience, overcoming playtesting obstacles, and making user research more efficient and effective.
